Don't forget Liffey wrigglies and swimmilies event on Saturday

Pics by Kilcullen Diary from last year's event.

The Liffey is teeming with life, much of it tiny, and it can all be seen down by the Heritage Centre at the 'What's in our River?' event upcoming this Saturday afternoon, writes Brian Byrne.
The presentation by local resident and ecologist Dr Jan Baars on the biodiversity of the River Liffey is a National Biodiversity Week initiative promoted by Kilcullen Community Action. In previous years, lots of children went along with their parents to peer through microscopes at some of the tiny beings in the river and get up close and personal with some of the larger ones such as crayfish.
A lovely afternoon to get to know some of the wrigglies and swimmilies, and there will be books and quizzes and identification sheets and all. From 1pm to 3pm.
