Woodbine Books again a regional finalist in key bookshop awards


Woodbine Books
has been selected as one of the Regional Finalists for the Island of Ireland in the British Book Awards Independent Bookshop of the Year, writes Brian Byrne.
The Kilcullen bookshop gem is up against Little Acorns Bookstore in Derry, Bridge Books Dromore, The Company of Books in Ranelagh, Dublin, The Secret Bookshelf in  Carrickfergus and Tertulia Books in Westport. They are among 77 independent bookshops in this year's competition, the largest cohort yet. The overall winner of the award for 2024 will win a £5,000 cash prize to be spent on their bookshop.
Woodbine was the Irish Region winner of the competition in 2018 and a finalist in 2019.
The Regional and Country winners of the 2024 competition will be announced on 12 March, and the overall winners at a ceremony on 13 May in London.
