Update on GAA walks and challenge

Thank you to the 315 walkers from Kilcullen GAA and Community who have registered and are completing the challenge so far, writes Liam Cronin of Kilcullen GAA. We have 282 actively tracking steps, so 33 are not tracking their steps to date — if you need support to track steps on your phone, please go to this link as you can track steps automatically and manually.
We have so far totalled 17,745km in 12 days which is amazing and we remain number 3 in the Leinster clubs leaderboard. Well done to everyone involved — we have walked 10,983Km in the last week and it’s not too late to sign-up, keep spreading the word.
The challenge concludes 12 February, and every step counts to keep Kilcullen community in the top 3 in Leinster, so just download the app MyLife by Irish Life from the App Store or Google Play Store. On the app go to: Social > Challenges > Pending > Every Steps Counts + (Leinster) > Kilcullen GAA.
The Kilcullen GAA Lights Up 2024 walk continued last Monday night 15 January with 167 walkers doing four laps of the town route from Kilcullen GAA Training pitch, supporting Operation Transformation (OT) Leader Noel O’ Connell. Any club and community members who wish to come together for the walk, where you can catch up with neighbours and friends, are welcome to participate at 8pm each Monday night up to 12 February 2024. Free Ballygowan water will be served during the walk, sponsored by Britvic Ireland. Please make sure to always have your walking gear with bright Hi-Viz vest/clothing when walking with Kilcullen GAA Lights Up 2024.
Please spread the word to your friends and family and invite them to take part with us in both the Kilcullen Community Steps Challenge and Kilcullen Lights Up 2024 walk.
Any questions ask liamg.cronin@hotmail or mauriceobrien@gmail.com.
Seeya next Monday night 22 January at 8pm for this week’s walk with OT leader Noel O’Connell.
