New planning application for Kia car dealership

A detailed planning application has been lodged with Kildare County Council for a new car showroom at Brownstown, near the Link Park, writes Brian Byrne.

The application by Bella Enterprises is for a 2-storey premises recessed from the road, with entrance lobby, display area, offices and ancillary accommodation, also workshops/service areas all at ground floor level. The second floor level will comprise offices and ancillary accommodation.

The file number is 2360540 and submissions may be made up to 3 February 2024.

Bella Enterprises currently operate a Kia dealership under the name of Dunleas at Kilcullen.

In March 2018, the company was granted planning permission to rebuild their existing premises. In 2020 permission was granted for a new showrooms at the Brownstown site. In 2021 the company lodged a new application for the site and later that year Kildare County Council proposed a Material Contravention of the Kilcullen Local Area Plan 2014-2020 to facilitate the erection of a motor sales showroom.
