'LPT could fund' Conroy Park path upgrades

Local Property Tax funding could be used to upgrade the footpaths in Conroy Park during 2024, writes Brian Byrne. Using LPT funding would be 'subject to budget and the agreement of the councillors'.
That was the reply to a question from Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer at today's meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, where she asked if the estate was being considered for such upgrades. Officials also said the preparation of the 2024 roads programme is currently under way.
The councillor said Conroy Park is one of the oldest estates in Kilcullen and, due to service installations and patch up works over the years, the paths are 'in desperate need' of repairs. "I welcome the report and hope that funding can be found to carry out the works," she said.
