Another Kilcullen link to Six Nations 2024

Another Kilcullen interest in the upcoming Six Nations Rugby has resulted from the call-up to the wider Ireland squad of Munster prop Oli Jager, writes Brian Byrne.
Oli is the grandson of John and Monica Martin of Moanbane Park, and joined the Munster club in December. Prior to that he had played professional rugby in New Zealand for the last ten years, initially with Canterbury and then with the Crusaders.
With his Munster teammate Tom Ahern and Leinster's Sam Prendergast, he has been named as 'training panellist' to supplement Andy Farrell's full 34-man squad. The 28-year-old told RTE Sport's Rugby podcast that he hadn't expected to be called to link up with the Irish squad so soon.
He's the son of John and Monica's daughter Therese and her husband Harm Jager. Oli attended Newbridge College, and Blackrock College in Dublin where his father was a strength and conditioning coach.
Earlier this week we reported on the selection of Kilcullen man Tadgh Brophy to the Ireland U20s squad in the upcoming Six Nations.
