Thanks from Lions for tools, sewing machines

There was a great response to the “Tools For Solidarity” collection appeal held last Saturday at Kilcullen Community Centre, writes Daragh Fitzgerald. A big thank you from Kilcullen Lions Club to all those who took the time to drop off sewing machines and various types of manual and electric tools. 

These items will be transported to Belfast shortly for repair and refurbishment and will then be shipped to Tanzania to start a second life there facilitating training and the start up of small sustainable businesses.

If anyone else has a sewing machine that they would like to donate at this time, collection can be arranged this week by calling 087 2563340.
