Lug Challenge 'succeeded beyond expectations'

With some funds still to come, the total raised by participants in the Lugnaquilla Challenge stands at €3,559, writes Gerry O'Donoghue of Maintain Hope. Maintain Hope will use the money raised to support our children and their families in Ngong, Matasia and Kiserian, outside Nairobi in Kenya.

We currently support 85 children and young adults, providing counselling, medication, education and shelter. Our efforts are concentrated on supporting children within their families and communities. 

None of this would be possible without our friends and supporters. This particular fundraiser succeeded beyond our most hopeful expectations and we are so grateful to the trekkers, their supporters and in particular to Frank Mitchell who guided the walk with all participants summiting and descending safely. 

There is always hope.
