KCA on biodiversity visit to Abbeyleix

Members of Kilcullen Community Action took part in a site visit in Abbeyleix yesterday, facilitated by Dr Fiona McGowan and Dr Mary O'Connor, to see how the local community take action for biodiversity in the area.

"We were delighted to be part of this today," KCA posted afterwards on their Facebook page, "and in spite of the heavy rain we got a great insight into the great work being done in the lovely town of Abbeyleix."

Dr Fiona MacGowan is a consulting ecologist and botanist and Dr Mary O'Connor is a qualified botanical ecologist with a special interest in peatland ecology.
