Dates for local pumpkin picking

With the equinox passed and the next big festival being the winter one of Halloween, there are a couple of chances to get into the ghoulish spirit for that, writes Brian Byrne.

It's two weekend of picking pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch established by Amanda and Shane Lambe at Hacklow, south of Old Kilcullen (R56 X860).

The events are 14/15 and 21/22 October, from 11am-4pm each day, at a cost of €5 per person.

There will be food and coffee trucks and Halloween activities, and it's a dog-friendly event. Fun for all the family, and especially the little ones. And the pumpkins couldn't be more fresh.
