Fairy Colouring Competition post box installed

A special Fairy Post Box has now been installed near the entrance to the Valley for the Children's Colouring Competition in association with the upcoming relaunch of the Fairy Trail, writes Brian Byrne.

Music, competitions, goody bags and fancy dress will all be attractions at the gala relaunch next week, on the afternoon of Saturday 12 August. The fun starts at 2pm, with everyone in the community welcome. Children and adults alike are encouraged to dress up in fairy themes for the occasion.

The fairy houses and signs on the Trail, first opened in a KCA initiative as part of Kilcullen 700 in 2019, have been upgraded, added to and refurbished thanks to funding provided by KCA, Kildare County Council and Kildare Credit Union.

The colouring competition for children has as first prize a special fairy house to be located in the Valley with the winner's name. A second prize will be a Pamper Me Beautiful €50 voucher.

There will also be the opportunity for children on the day to have hair braids, nails, and glitter face design by Pamper Me Beautiful.
