Kilcullen schools Cricket Blitz upcoming

What is probably the biggest 'Cricket Blitz' ever to take place in County Kildare will be hosted by Halverstown Cricket Club on the morning of Thursday 8 June. 

Three schools from the Kilcullen locality — Scoil Bhride Kilcullen, Brannoxtown Community National School and St Joseph’s NS Halverstown will all be taking part in the event between 10am and 12.30 pm. This is a culmination of weeks of coaching that has been taking place in the schools, spear-headed by Stuart Conroy, Honorary Secretary of Halverstown Cricket Club. 

It is expected that over 200 children will demonstrate their new-found skills in competition against other classes and other schools.

This initiative has been funded by Kildare Sports Partnership, in conjunction with Cricket Leinster and Halverstown Cricket Club and is part of a continuing drive to re-establish cricket’s appeal and popularity in County Kildare.
