Kilcullen hosts Community Games Indoor Soccer finals

It has been a busy morning at Kilcullen Community Centre, hosting the National Finals of the Community Games Indoor Soccer, writes Brian Byrne.
With 16 teams in the final, totalling 120 youngsters between the ages of 10-16, and their families cheering them on, the atmosphere was very competitive.
"The Kilcullen centre worked out very well for us," Community Games National President Gerry McGuinness told the Diary. "Especially for the families, with the playground nearby available for younger children."
There were Girls and Boys teams in the different age grades, teams which had come through from County and Provincial levels of the 2023 competition. None from Kildare, unfortunately.
But it's just another example of how Kilcullen Community Centre and the clubs on the campus are attracting national levels of competition — next weekend it's the turn of St Bridget's Pitch and Putt Club, hosting the National Matchplay event of that sport.
