Family picnic opening of Library Garden
The official opening of the Community Garden at Kilcullen Library will take place this coming Saturday afternoon, and all are welcome to the event, writes Brian Byrne.
Families are encouraged to bring their own picnics from 2pm, and the afternoon will include presentations on how the garden was designed and developed, as well as chats in the library about what it was like as the original Boys School.
A KCA project team took an unused space at the former Boys School in 2019 and have turned it into an oasis of tranquility with paths, seats, a wild meadow, raised beds for growing vegetables, and a picnic lawn.
The project was carried out in cooperation with the Kildare Library and Arts Service.
