Friends rally around Celine in cancer support
Friends of Celine Garvey, manager of the Moat Theatre in Naas and a linchpin of the arts in Kildare, have set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise support funds while she is undergoing treatment for cancer, writes Brian Byrne.
Celine lives at Mooretown, outside Kilcullen, with her daughter Elanor, and was recently diagnosed with a cancer of unknown origin.
In addition to the GoFundMe initiative, a fundraising concert will be held in the theatre in Naas on Thursday 8 June. Stars from the arts and music world performing will include Rebecca Storm, Paddy Casey, John Forde, Arlene Bailey, The Willibees, Mairead Carroll, Johny & Harrison Warren, and Pete Kavanagh who is organising the 'Gig for Celine'.
