Scoot to School Week

This is National Scoot to School Week, and families are asked to encourage their children to use scooters getting to school instead of using cars to drop them off.

The initiative is supported by Green-Schools, which promotes long-term, whole-school action for the environment. 

Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community, operated and coordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce. Further information here. 

EDITOR NOTE: Would parents make sure that young scooter users have a bell on their machines and to use it when coming up behind pedestrians on the footpath. This is particularly important for users of electric scooters on the footpath, which have become a silent and sometimes very scary issue.
