Community Safety Fund applications invitation

Applications to the 2023 Community Safety Innovation Fund for local safety initiatives will open shortly, writes Brian Byrne.

The Fund will provide total of €3 million from the seized proceeds of crime to support the development of community safety.

Grants in the range €20,000-€150,000 will be available from the Fund to help with community projects aimed at improving safety and feelings of safety, reducing reoffending, or diverting vulnerable individuals away from engagement in criminal behaviour, among other ideas.

Applications will be invited from community safety initiatives as well as groups co-funded with local authorities, NGOs and community organisations working on issues relevant to community safety and youth justice.
