Another award for Nolan's overloaded shelf

Nolan's Butchers are having a problem, writes Brian Byrne. They're running out of shelf space to hold their awards. The latest one is the Retail category at Ireland’s Small Firms Association National Business Awards, presented at the RDS in Dublin on Thursday night.
"It was a huge honour and due recognition for the wonderful Team that makes Nolan’s of Kilcullen such a unique and special place to shop," James Nolan said afterwards, as always quick to acknowledge his great-grandfather Andrew who started the business back in 1886 in Kilcullen.
His grandfather James (Gee) took over in 1909 until James’s own father Andy took the reins in 1954 and built the business into what it is today. James in his own turn started 2003 and is immensely proud of this unique family business that has been honoured with this huge national award. He dedicated it to all the people who have worked down through the years in Nolan’s.
The awards judges described Nolan's as genuine leaders in their business sector, using the true skills and craftsmanship of butchering 'that is much sought after by their customers but is sadly in decline in Ireland today'.
