TII ignores Council letters on new M9 slip road proposal

Transport Infrastructure Ireland has so far not acknowledged letters from Kildare County Council asking them to look into providing a slip road either at Kinneagh Hill or the M7-M9 junction, in order to facilitate motorway traffic to Newbridge that otherwise has to come through Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne.
This was revealed in response to a question from Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer at the recent meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District. The councillor noted that the correspondence from the KCC side was raised from a motion of hers in November 2021, seeking a technical examination of the idea.
The report to her recent question noted that a reminder letter had been issued by Kildare County Council on 4 January 2023.
