Cllr seeks new M9 slip road to ease Kilcullen traffic

Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer and the two location options for a slip road.

A request for a feasibility study on a new slip road exit off the M9 to cut traffic through Kilcullen is to be raised at the upcoming meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, writes Brian Byrne.

The motion by Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer wants the Council to write to Transport Infrastructure Ireland to carry out a technical survey on the possibility of such a slip road, either at Kinneagh or at the M9/M7 junction.

The councillor says a slip road would facilitate traffic that currently has no option but to come through Kilcullen, Sunnyhill Road and Athgarvan to reach Newbridge.
