RTÉ Radio explores Kildare on Brigid's Holiday Monday
Writer and broadcaster Vincent Woods is presenting his County Measure Radio 1 programme with stories from Kildare on Saint Brigid's Bank Holiday Monday, including some from Kilcullen.
The programme series has previously visited Armagh, Clare, Louth, and Waterford, exploring arts, sports, history, heritage and diverse communities.
Monday's programme from County Kildare will be broadcast at 11am, with interviews from the historic plains of the Curragh, the modern educational campus of Maynooth, and the county's thriving Chinese community. Vincent also visits Arthur Guinness's grave.
During his visit to Kildare the presenter spoke with, among others, Sonja Moore of the Crann Hedgerow Project, Treacy O'Connor at Saint Brigid's Garden Well, and members of Kilcullen Boxing Club. He also caught up with Brian Byrne — a former colleague on RTE's Radio 2 News in the 1980s — to talk about Dan Donnelly's Arm.
