Looking Back: Kilcullen Spring Fair 1975

Were you there at the Kilcullen Spring Fair in May 1975? writes Brian Byrne.

The youngsters above are in a grab shot from an RTE TV report on 15 May 1975 about the two-day event, hosted on the grounds of Leinster Mart, Kilcullen. (And who's the lad sticking his tongue out at the camera? ... there's always one.)

The Fair was organised by Kilcullen Community Council, the Society of St Vincent de Paul and the New Schools Fund Committee.

The event had been postponed by a couple of weeks because of fuel shortages during a petrol supply strike.
