Council to examine Thompson's Cross potholes issue
The Road Transport and Safety Department in Kildare County Council is to 'examine' the issue of potholes at Thompson's Cross, after representations by Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer, writes Brian Byrne.
This follows yesterday's report on the Diary showing how the potholes, which have been getting worse over many months, are impacting motorists driving out from the Kilgowan Road at the junction.
The councillor has been told that the RT&S Department will revert 'in due course' about the issue.
The Diary's story and accompanying video (above) brought out a very strong reaction from motorists who use the junction regularly.
The crossroads has been a source of concern on local road safety for many years, ever since the junction was revised following the extension of the M9 beyond Kilcullen. It has been the scene of many crashes.
