Busy start to Lions earthquake relief fundraiser
There was a very busy start this morning to the Turkey-Syria earthquake relief Coffee Morning organised by Kilcullen Lions in the Heritage Centre, writes Brian Byrne.
Though the sheer scale of the human tragedy is overwhelming, every relevant aid agency is doing what they can to get help in to the survivors in the affected areas, and all funds donated to the Lions local event will go directly to help.
Also at the event was Ozgur Kayaalp with his wife Emma and their daughters Isabella, Lola and Juliana. Emma is the daughter of Pat Kelly of Bishop Rogan Park, and Ozgur is from Turkey, with relatives in the area where the earthquakes have wrought devastation.
The Coffee Morning includes a Cake Sale, and will continue until 2pm.
