Free online Gender Studies introduction

An online course in Gender & Equality Studies is being held over four Tuesday evenings from 24 January, under the auspices of Kildare County Council.

The course is free, but registration must be made for the limited number of places, by contacting Carmel Cashin at ccashin@kildarecoco.ie.

Over the four evenings, with each 2-hour session beginning at 6.30pm, the topics covered will include gender-related concepts, bias and stereotyping, language, constitutional and legal aspects, equality, and issues facing women today.

The course is relevant to individuals, families, communities, employers, educators and more, and will conclude with an in-person workshop in Naas.

The initiative is funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to promote women and diversity in local government.
