Medals presented to Kilcullen U15 Feile champions

U15 Kildare Feile champions with mentors.

The Kilcullen GAA Boys U15 team were presented with medals last night for winning their Division 3 Kildare Feile championship last June, writes Brian Byrne. The Kilcullen boys had beaten Kilcock in the final of the summer event, held at Hawkfield in Newbridge.
The medals were given out by the team's lead mentor, Aidan O'Connell, in the presence of Kilcullen GAA chairperson Dan Bell and the Juvenile chairperson Eamon Wynne.

Speaking at the event in Kilcullen GAA Clubhouse, Aidan O'Connell paid tribute to all the mentor panels and to the parents of the boys who made up the 21 members of the Feile-winning squad. "These boys have been playing together since they were six, and have always had great support from their parents," he said, and also thanked all the sponsors for the team. "It's great to be here tonight to present the medals. It is a great achievement to have won in Division 3, and it took the full panel to do it. It is a team sport, and I think you are a true team — everyone played very well."
Eamon Wynne also congratulated the squad for an achievement 'which you will remember for the rest of your lives'. "On your behalf I'd also like to thank the mentors here tonight, who give up a lot of their time," he said, noting that their work was much more than being at the pitch side for an hour and then going away. "They prepare the training schedules, organise matches and lots more at organisational level — it's a huge commitment and on behalf of you all they deserve a huge thank you for their work."
Dan Bell recalled the final game of the Feile weekend as being a great one, and he told the boys that they would always remember the highlight games of their under-age years. "And you'll always remember the lads on the team, which is a great memory," he said, and added his own appreciation for the time and commitment of the mentors. "I wish you all the best of luck," he concluded, "well done on 2022, and the best of luck again in 2023, and enjoy it."
The Feile team members were Matthew O'Gorman, Jamie Furlong, Rhys Byrne, Luke Lynch, Kian McNally, Luke Costello, Adam Tobin, Jack Fogarty, Adam Barry, William Burke, Conor Duggan, Conor Curry (Capt), Mikey Arthur, Rory Taylor, Eoin O'Connell, Andrew Curran, Jamie Bohan, Leon Kelly, Carl Kenna, Jack Ryan and Finn Keogh. The team mentors were Aidan O'Connell, Louise Kelly, Neil Fogarty, Richie Curry Joe Kelly and Michael Barry.
