Evelyn closes Drama Dynamics after 17 years

Last evening saw the final class of Evelyn O'Sullivan's very popular Drama Dynamics School of Speech & Drama, writes Brian Byrne.
Evelyn has closed the school which she established 17 years ago after she and her family set up home in Kilcullen.
The main reason is because of new national drama commitments, as an associate member of the Association of Drama Adjudicators — the professional body for drama adjudicators — and a recent appointment as an Examiner with the Royal Irish Academy. "Those two things combined represented a change in my life, and I decided to put my energies into them," she told the Diary.
In addition to the very many hundreds of young people she has helped to 'find their own voice' down the 17 years, Evelyn has also worked with students in CPC, and with her Adult Drama classes, and has performed some memorable shows herself.
Evelyn had considered 'going out gently', but the Diary has had a long chat with her and we'll be doing a more appropriate farewell article in due course.
