Garda Centenary marked in Kilcullen today

Kilcullen serving and retired gardai paraded today in the town to mark the centenary of the founding of An Garda Siochána, writes Brian Byrne.
At the bridge the Last Post was played to honour the 89 gardai who have died on active service over the century.
Afterwards at Kilcullen Heritage Centre medals to mark the centenary were presented to the Garda members. Superintendent Oliver Henry and Sgt Tom O'Donoghue spoke on behalf of the force, and Nessa Dunlea of the Kilcullen Heritage Group replied, thanking them for their work with the community.
