129 bus route continuing into new year

The 129 bus route between Kilcullen and Newbridge has been extended until the end of January, writes Brian Byrne. 

The service is a temporary one since JJ Kavanagh exited the route last July and was scheduled to end on 31 October 2022.

The service has been operated on a short term basis by Local Link Kildare South Dublin since July. The temporary arrangement was negotiated by local representatives Martin Heydon TD and Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer

Cllr O'Dwyer says the National Transport Authority has agreed to continue the current arrangements until January 31 and will consider further extensions if required.

The councillor says the Authority is committed to providing the replacement service until a permanent solution is in place.
