'Field of Dreams' reveal this afternoon

Plans for the new pitches for Kilcullen GAA will be revealed at a barbecue at the clubhouse today, writes Brian Byrne.

The event begins at 4pm and Martin Murphy will present the plans for the 'Field of Dreams', developed in association with pitch design consultant Richard Hayden.

The development will allow the expansion of the club on eight acres of land beyond the main pitch, acquired in 2019 on a 100-year lease from Kildare County Council. The project involves the creation of three new pitches, two of which will be for juveniles.

In addition to a major fundraising campaign, the club — which currently has 1,000 members — is also seeking help from people in the community with specific skills that may be useful in bringing the project to fruition.
