Tidy Towns application 'two weeks full time work'

Filling out the application form for the annual Tidy Towns competition will be shared out in the local group for the next one, writes Brian Byrne.
This was agreed at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, when Noel Clare said it has become a 'quite onerous' process. "It's about two weeks work full time," he told the meeting, adding that sections could be done by different people.
Ray Kelly noted that there were sections that didn't need waiting until April or May to do, such as the Buildings area, which could probably be completed in January.
Noel Clare said that Tidy Towns inspectors spend 'a very short time' in each community, and what is presented in the application is very important.
Chair for the meeting Eoin Houlihan said it will be discussed more fully at the next meeting.
