'Very positive' Brigid 1500 meeting
Many local groups have confirmed that they want to participate in a Kilcullen event for the national Brigid 1500 festival year beginning later this year, writes Brian Byrne.
That was the outcome of Monday night's meeting which was a follow-up to the initial information session in June, featuring Mario Corrigan of Kildare Library Services.
"It's looking like being a weekend event in Kilcullen," organiser Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer told the Diary, adding that the groups so far interested include Kilcullen Drama Group, the SUAS Knitting Club, Ballyshannon Youth Drama and all the local schools. "It was a very positive meeting."
The individual groups are now to develop their ideas and assess costings and other needs.
The next meeting for the initiative will be in September.
