Weatherday: A lot of hot air

The late Donncha O Duailing records Fr Michael Murphy reading at St Brigid's well, during a Bothar Day walk (2007).

A good sunny start and it will stay bright through until late afternoon. Clouding over from then and some rain overnight.
Temperatures up to 15deg in moderate breezes from the north-east, so if you have a sunny corner sheltered from the wind it should feel very nice.
On this day in 1783, the Montgolfier brothers publicly launched a hot-air balloon, without a crew. It was the first such demonstration of how hot air in a large lightweight bag will make the whole entity rise.
