Bit of a change compared to what we've been having, with rain moving in from breakfast time and persisting through the day and evening. Heavy showers in the late afternoon. 

Local temperatures up to 10deg in light southerly breezes. 

On this day in 1942, all private motoring was banned because of petrol rationing caused by WW2. Bicycle thefts subsequently soared.
