Nicky Henderson raises a Punchstown pint in Mac's

During Punchestown Festival Week, you never know who'll be coming through your pub's door, and for Mick and Mary Masterson in McTernan's one of the many this week was English trainer Nicky Henderson, writes Brian Byrne.

A British jump racing Champion Trainer six times, he was formerly an amateur jockey and assistant trainer to Fred Winter from 1974 until he took out his own training licence in 1978.

He has a long list of winners down the years, especially at Cheltenham and other major hurdle venues, and has trained winners of Punchestown events between 1998-2019.
