A festival on the issue of 'food sovereignty' is being held at Maynooth University on Wednesday 13 April, writes Brian Byrne.
The event is organised by Dr Alistair Fraser and Dr Louise Fitzgerald of the Maynooth Green Campus Group.
The concept of food sovereignty is to prioritise small-scale and sustainable, regenerative food production instead of gearing policies towards the demands of markets and large corporations.
The organisers say the case for building food sovereignty is stronger than ever against the backdrop of pandemics, war and the food price crisis.
The event will run from 10am to 3.30pm and will include discussions, music, talks by sustainable small growers and more. Full details and registration here.
