Ballyshannon auction garners €9,000-plus
Last night's auction in Ballyshannon raised more than €9,000 for the Racefield quarry fighting fund, writes Brian Byrne.
There was a full house in Dowlings of Ballyshannon for the auction, organised by the Ballyshannon Action Group.
The Diary understands that they are 'still totting up' the response to the event, which had an online component for over a week and culminated in last evening's in-person auction conducted by John Dooley.
The action group is awaiting a decision in the autumn about whether they can have a judicial review of An Bord Pleanala's overturning of the Kildare County Council decision not to allow the Kilsaran quarry.
