The winner of the McTernan's Sweepstake on the Cheltenham meeting was Ger Shanahan, who was presented with his €450 prize this afternoon, writes Brian Byrne.
There were 47 entries in the event at €20 a head which put €940 in the kitty, and Ger won top tipster status with 11 winners over the four days. Second prize of €250 went to Ray Nolan and there were two further prizes of €120.
For Mary and Mick Masterson it was a back to normal Cheltenham week for the popular Kilcullen pub, after two years lost during the pandemic.
"We were very busy and there was a great atmosphere around the place," Mick told the Diary this afternoon. Mary, as she has always done in normal times, provided food through the festival week for her customers. "We also had visitors from Newbridge and Naas."
