'A Hint of Gray' is Kilcullen artistic family works
A unique exhibition of their paintings by Kilcullen-based father and daughter Brad Gray and Della Cowper-Gray will open on Friday night 11 March in the Riverbank Arts Centre, writes Brian Byrne.
The title of the show is 'A Hint of Gray', and will run in the Foyer Gallery at Riverbank until 30 April. It will feature works by Brad Gray which are rarely seen in Ireland but which have been exhibited in many other places, including Shanghai and Los Angeles. He works in oils, producing works which have been described as 'quirky and edgy ... with peculiar characters thrown together in a world not entirely of our own'.
Fourteen-year-old Della's 'Painting in a Different World now (My Father the Artist)' was the overall winner in the Zurich Portrait prize last year, and has been shown in National Gallery of Ireland and the Crawford gallery in Cork. Her work is mainly using coloured pencils to build up laters that culminate in meticulous realism.
The exhibition will be formally opened on Friday at 6pm.
