CPC in Russia ... three decades ago

In November 1991, 32 students and 10 staff from Cross and Passion College went on a school tour to Russia, which brought them to Moscow and St Petersburg, writes Brian Byrne.

In that latter city, formerly Leningrad, they met with students of School No 38A with whom they enjoyed the school's hospitality and exchanged gifts. In both cities they visited cathedrals and palaces representing the time of the Tsars, and in Moscow they were pleased to find a McDonalds Meal was just 25p ... cheap for the Irish but expensive enough for the Russian people.

Pictured above with some new friends in Red Square are Caroline Browne and Linda Foley.
