Heavy metal at Ballyshannon fundraiser

Pics: Ballyshannon Action Group.

There has been a great response so far to the Ballyshannon Action Group's weekend scrap metal collection, with all skips filled yesterday, writes Brian Byrne.

The group promises more skips available to continue the effort today, a fundraiser towards costs for the Judicial Review sought about the Bord Pleanala decision to allow Kilsaran open a quarry at Racefield.

Cllr Ivan Keatley and Minister of State Martin Heydon TD turned up yesterday to see how the collection was going.

All metals are welcome, including steel, iron, machines, tools, metal from construction and farms and industry, bicycles, old car part and copper. Collection points are at the following postcodes — copper: R56 W226; everything else: R56 DC13,  R56 HR65 and R56 W208. A door to door collection is also available, call Jim on 086 8251165 for more information.
