Old Kilcullen Picnic next weekend

The Old Kilcullen Area Community Association will be holding a Picnic on the Green for residents in the area on Saturday next, 21 August.

A similar inaugural event was held in 2019 which was very successful, but covid restrictions meant it couldn't be held last year.

The event begins at 4pm, and all covid mitigation precautions will be taken on the day.

So far this year the Association has carried out litter picking, is liaising with Kildare County Council on an archaeological survey of the area around the tower and graveyard, and has ordered roadside seats which will be installed in coming weeks.

A meeting was also held with local councillor Tracey O’Dwyer on road surfaces, and refurbishments have since taken place.
