Kilcullen cyclists dominating their spaces
Pictured is Conor Regan winning his first race in Mondello recently, followed closely by Shane Whelan, writes Liam Walker. These two riders have dominated the Under-12 racing in recent times.
At the moment Shane is leading the league points with Conor in second place. Also at the same venue Under-16 rider Oisin Collins is performing well in his races being among the points every week. Oisin is new to cycling and is performing above his experience level.
On the senior level, Fergal Regan won the race yesterday in Summerhill, sprinting clear of the eight-man breakaway to win by two lengths. In Slane Niall O'Brien finished in sixth place with 50 riders sprinting home on the uphill finish.
At the moment the Murphy Geospatial-sponsored riders are holding five of the top six places in the Kildare Carlow Inter-club League, with one night's racing left.
