Candles on the bridge for Pieta House
Following a symbolic walk from New Abbey last night by a small group of the organisers of the annual Dawn Walk for Pieta House, hundreds of candles were placed on the bridge in Kilcullen for this weekend, to remember loved ones, writes Brian Byrne.
Everybody is encouraged to visit the display at some stage on Saturday and Sunday. Donations may be made to Pieta House at The River Cafe, or by contacting Lorna Brophy or Richie Kelly.
The candles include names of those being remembered by supporters of the event, which for the second year in a row is a replacement for the previous annual Dawn Walks to New Abbey.
