Summer Stars reading adventure for children

Kilcullen Library is participating in the Summer Stars programme for children that's running until 31 August, writes Brian Byrne. All children throughout the country are invited to join the adventure and to enjoy the fun and pleasure of reading and writing over the summer.

The activities include the Summer Stars Borrowbox for e- and e-audio books, an online Storytime, a Story Competition with three age categories, Reading Cards, and a Review feature through which those taking part can upload their own reviews of what they have read. "They can get involved through the Library here itself, or online," says Julie O'Donoghue, Kilcullen's Librarian, which is open for business at the usual hours.

Appointments need to be made to attend the Library in person for the time being, due to covid restrictions. But all details on the initiative are available here. In the meantime, Julie also says that she has a whole bunch of new books in stock for children and adults.
