Remembering JFK, promising the Moon

On the 26th of June 1963, John F Kennedy made the first visit to Ireland by a serving United States President, writes Brian Byrne. It made an impact on me, and on the nation, at the time.

My memories of that visit, and of other resonating moments in the JFK presidency, were brought back into sharp focus when I took a recent trip to the Kennedy Homestead and the John F Kennedy Memorial Park & Arboretum in Co Wexford.
