Kilcullen is blooming ...

A bit of a treat this sunny morning with a camera walk through Kilcullen to see the summer flowers in bloom, writes Brian Byrne.

Though only recently installed, many of the displays are already looking very well, and will only improve as they come to cascade out of their containers over the coming weeks.

The stunning effect all represents hard work and dedication by the volunteers and workers of Kilcullen Community Action, with over 200 window boxes planted, along with eight large planters at CPC and Bank of Ireland.

Three new tiered planters have also been put in place, and the canoe area at Hillcrest has been replanted, and the six large barrel planters on the hill area also cleaned up.

The hanging baskets on the bridge have been put in place, the Logstown road flower bed planted, and the painting of rails and bollards continues, thanks to the help from CPC TY students and others.

In addition, the Market Square flower bed has been cleaned up and planted, and the displays in the Library Garden are also looking really good.
