Battery protest signs 'removed in dirty tricks'

The organisers of a campaign against a planning application for a battery electric storage system at Dunnstown-Dunshane say 'dirty tricks' are already being employed against them, writes Brian Byrne.

They say that posters which they spent €500 on and placed around the area last Friday were all removed on the same night.

"It's very galling," a spokesperson told the Diary this evening. "An unidentified jeep with a trailer went around in the dark and took them down. This what we're up against."

The organisers have notified the  Gardai about the matter.
