Some businesses will have power during planned Saturday cut

A number of businesses on Main Street have been told they now will have electricity supply during a scheduled power cut on Saturday, writes Brian Byrne.

Following representations by several businesses on the plans to leave them without power on the busiest day of the week, a representative from ESB Networks yesterday visited those premises which will be affected, and in some cases was able to arrange for supply continuance.

In a further move, homes and businesses in the Nicholastown area received notices of the power cut only yesterday, although the notice issue date was 4 February.

The cut is to facilitate the installation of new equipment to improve the supply to Kilcullen.
