Local TD and Minister of State Martin Heydon has welcomed confirmation that plans for an extension of Cross and Passion College have gone to tender, writes Brian Byrne.
Saying it was a 'long-awaited step' in the building programmes for CPC, Patrician Post Primary and St Mark's Special School, he cautioned that the pressure on second level places continues across Kildare South.
"I will continue to work with the Department of Education to progress other school projects," he said, "in particular the securing of a site to progress the new Curragh Post Primary development which is also badly needed."
Minister Heydon recently urged the Minister for Education to 'expedite' second-level school projects in the region.
